It is good to see this project finally come to life after all the unfortunate delays. Now, we can start reading the tea leaves on how much this will add to the GDP and if the 12.5 million purported visitors will really show up in 2010.

All we are getting is good news on Singapore’s economic front. But I am skeptical that this can continue, we had a massive dislocation in global trade flows over the last 2 years and in spite of its reliance on trade, Singapore seems to have come out of it without too much damage.
